Chapter 29 - Coffee Scent
“Now I'm nervous, Jas.”
I just parked in front of Bu's shop. Steve and Nate got there a bit before us, so I guess they're already attacking the strawberry cream cakes and filling their stomachs with hot chocolate. Yuck! James was silent the whole trip, didn't mention anything about what happened with Leyla, and twisted his fingers restlessly, failing miserably to hide his concern.
“Baby, she's gonna love you,” I hold his hand and smile, trying to soothe him. “Plus, Bu is very sweet all the time.”
“But what if I screw it up somehow?” He hesitates before continuing. “What if I don't deliver? This is my first job, after all.”
“Exactly. You have to start somewhere,” I kiss his knuckles and he sighs. “Are you quick to learn?”
