“Who else are you going to let them sacrifice?” Shinbe asked with tears in his amethyst eyes. “Will you forsake us?”
Kyoko could hear the noise in the cavern fade as her heartbeat grew loud within her ears… the rhythm slowly getting faster and faster.

Her eyes widened as she looked for the voice yelling over the other muted sounds.
“Don’t do it.”
She jerked her gaze from one guardian to the next, looking for whose lips were moving. They were moving but she could tell they weren’t saying the words she could hear.
“Kyoko… I’m here with you… break the demon’s spell. Be careful love… they know what you want and they know what you fear… they are using it against you,” The voice whispered within her mind then left her as sound slammed back into her with a vengeance.
