I breathlessly scale the front steps to the Red Pyramid.
Once inside, I find a huge room covered with intricate murals. The Great Temple Chamber. These images show Horus flying over the Red Pyramid. Beneath the structure, the mural shows a large black box buried underground. And inside that dark space is drawn an image of Set.

Across the other walls, the remaining gods and goddesses watch on in awe of Horus’ magic. Some pictures are chipped and in need of repair. Other walls are blank and must be prepped for painting. The artisans quickly get to work. Some fix fading murals. Others smooth down new stretches of wall for extra pictures.
