CHAPTER SIXJaela and Kathy came back from riding.
Because it was a nice day they had ridden rather further than usual.

And Kathy made a great fuss of Snowball before he was taken away into his stall.
She had been riding now without a leading-rein, which had delighted her and Jaela felt that she was becoming quite a good little horsewoman.
‘It will please the Earl,’ she thought, knowing how superb he was on a horse.
Hand-in-hand, with Kathy chattering excitedly, they went into The Castle.
