The Merciless Alpha

Alpha Kael Blackthorn was known for one thing only: he had no mercy. No one dared hold his gaze for more than a few seconds… and those who did never forgot it. He ruled the Crimson Moon pack with an iron hand and a heart that seemed made of ice. He had won wars, executed traitors, and exiled his own Luna the night she betrayed him. Since then, Kael made a vow before his pack. “Love weakened me once… and it will never rule me again.” But there was one night… A night when everything shattered. Flashback There were no screams—that was the worst part. She stood before him, her eyes red, but her back straight. She was still his Luna… the woman he had chosen to rule by his side. “If I hadn’t done it, they would have killed them,” his Luna said in a low voice. “I had no other choice… the pack was at risk.” Kael did not respond immediately. His gaze fell on the document on the table. It bore enemy seals, containing routes and strategies. Information only a Luna could know. His jaw tightened slightly, almost imperceptibly. “And you thought betraying me was the solution?” he asked, his calm more dangerous than any shout. She shook her head desperately, trying to hold back her tears. “I thought I could stop the war…” That was what hurt him the most. Kael closed his eyes for a second—just one. Long enough to bury whatever remained of him. “Belilah… you have no idea what you’ve just done.” When he looked at her again, there was nothing left. Only a gaze devoid of love, filled with disappointment. Before the council, which watched in absolute silence, Kael stepped forward. “From this day on,” he declared, his voice firm, “you have no pack, no Alpha… no place.” Kael paused, as if his heart had been torn by wolf claws. “You are no longer my Luna.” A murmur spread through the room. The council was stunned. Belilah took a step toward him, trembling. She knew perfectly well Kael never stepped back. “Kael… please…” But he raised his hand, stopping her without touching her. “I bury you in the deepest part of my soul.” His words were colder than any punishment. She looked at him, wounded. “Forgive me…” Kael watched her in silence, as if trying to recognize in her face the woman he once loved. There was no hatred in his eyes—hatred would have been easier. What was there was worse: an indifference that hollowed his bones. “It’s too late for forgiveness,” he said at last. “There are decisions that cannot be undone.” He turned and walked toward the exit. The guards immediately cleared the way. Before crossing the door, he stopped. “Gather the pack.” One of the guards hesitated. “And the Luna?” Kael showed no emotion. “Bring her as well.” The central courtyard filled within minutes. No one knew what was happening, but everyone felt something irreversible was about to occur. Belilah stood there, pale and rigid. She knew what was coming. She had known from the moment Kael picked up that document. Kael positioned himself before them all. His presence alone was enough to silence any whisper. “Tonight,” he announced, “the Crimson Moon pack has been betrayed.” The murmuring was immediate. Kael raised the document. “The information delivered to the enemy could only have come from someone with trusted access.” His gaze fell on her. “My Luna.” Kael descended the steps until he stood before Belilah. He did not touch her. It wasn’t necessary. “Belilah,” he said, his voice commanding, “before your pack, I strip you of the title I granted you.” She closed her eyes, and he continued. “I break the bond that united us… and I banish you from the Crimson Moon pack.” The onlookers could not stop whispering among themselves. “From this moment on, you have no clan, no protection… and no right to speak my name.” Belilah stepped toward him, her hand outstretched. “I only wanted to save them… I swear it, my love.” “And in doing so,” he cut in, “you condemned us all.” Kael raised his hand. “Escort the former Luna out of the territory.” A warrior asked an uneasy question. “And if she returns?” Kael looked at her one last time. “Then she will be treated as an enemy.” The words pierced her. “I will always love you, Kael!” Belilah shouted. He did not respond. Because if he did… he might break. And that was something an Alpha could not afford. When Belilah crossed the borders of the territory, the moon hid behind the clouds. She stopped. Her body bent in pain as the transformation consumed her. Bones cracked, skin tore. Where a woman had stood… now there was a wolf—strong and agile. The pack instinctively stepped back. The she-wolf advanced slowly. Kael watched her. For a moment… he remembered her strength. Then the ground trembled. The black wolf emerged—massive, imposing, and lethal. Belilah took another step toward him. But Kael did not hesitate. With a single movement, he threw her to the ground, marking the end between them. When he returned to his human form, he did not look at her again. He turned to his pack, and in a cold, calculated voice, addressed them. “Let no one forget…” His eyes gleamed with absolute coldness. “The night I buried my Luna…” He paused. And in that instant, something inside him died forever. “…was the night I buried the man I once was.” Kael entered his vast mansion, allowing no one to follow him, and went straight to the room he had once shared with his former Luna.
