TWENTY
Arriving early on Wednesday morning, Alex hears his phone ringing before reaching his office. He rushes in to lift the receiver.
“Warren.”
“Good morning, Sir. I’m glad I’ve caught you because I’ll be unavailable, in a training session all day, and hoped to catch you first. I’ve had a response from Virgin.”
“Excellent.”
“It was most unexpected. They’ve come back so quick.”
“I’m not complaining,” Alex says. “Was there anything useful?”
“I’m certain it will make interesting reading, Sir. I’ll email it across as soon as I hang up.”
“Can you summarise?”
“Sorry, Sir. I need to go right now if I’m to get it away on time for you to have it. I’m certain that you won’t be disappointed.”
