Chloe and Amelia left the storage room laughing and pushing their way through Aly's body, who seemed ready to hit them if I asked her to. But the last thing I wanted at that moment was to make things worse. In fact, though I appreciated Aly's timely intervention, I wanted to be alone at that moment, and I told her so.
"Are you sure? Don't you want to talk?" Aly asked.
"We'll talk later, I promise. But right now, I just need a moment, okay?" Aly understood and closed the door again.
That's when I realized what had driven me to lock myself in for a few minutes.
‘Gea, are you there?’ I asked.
‘Of course, I'm here, Sussan. Remember, I'm always here for you,’ Gea replied.
‘Aren't you just a voice in my head? I want you to tell me I'm not crazy.’
Gea sighed and rolled her eyes. "I've been
