With a leap, we entered what remained of the hideout. I had tasked Sussan, along with Aly and five of the new allies we had, to ensure that no new attackers could enter. It was a choice we discussed with Liam while we were heading back to the house.
Neither of us wanted to see our companion exposed to the danger that the relentless battle inside the structure implied. Just looking at the state the house was in as a result of the battle waged by about thirty beasts driven by the sole desire to annihilate each other was enough.
Without her developed sense of smell, Sussan would easily mistake the men of Alpha Ross and Alpha Zoe. She would attack anyone within her reach without distinction.
