The next day the midwife returned to check on Rosalind. “Hola, Carolina,” Rosalind greeted her. Once Dr. Anzaldúa had returned to Barcelona, the two women had developed a much more casual relationship. “Hola, Rosalinda,” the midwife replied. “How are you today?” “I feel very good,” Rosalind replied. “I haven’t needed any medicine in a long time.” “Do you still have pain?” Carolina asked. “Only a little.” “Fatigue?” “Oh, yes. I’ve had such trouble sleeping.” “That’s common with a new baby,” Carolina informed her.
