Daphne
I arrived at Jake’s building a little earlier than the agreed time, and as I approached the entrance, my heart was racing. There was something about the fact that he wanted to cook for me, that he had invited me into his space, that made this night feel special. I couldn’t help but feel excited.
When I reached his apartment door, a mix of nervousness and childlike excitement bubbled up inside me. I knocked softly, and a few seconds later, I heard Jake’s footsteps on the other side. The door opened, revealing his face, and the smile that spread across his lips when he saw me completely melted me.
“Daphne! Right on time,” he said with a charming smile, leaning in slightly to leave a kiss on my cheek before stepping aside to let me in.
