Brother`s Best Friend Mate

Chapter Two

See yall later. See yall at lunch. Everybody goes their own way. MaryAnne and I start walking down the hall. "Girl you ready for Mrs. Brownson`s Math class? "I don`t even know Reme,"said MaryAnne. We walk down the hall a little and we see Lee. "Hey Lee, I see you made it back in one piece," said MaryAnne. They stop to talk but I`m a keep it moving because I ain`t trying to be late on the first day. I walk down a little further and here`s Tone and Jade tonguing each other down. Goodness gracious what is this,lovers lane or something? Won`t yall get a room....or a education. 

     They stop suddenly I must`ve surprised the hell out of them, especially Tone looking all dissappointed and s**t. I just look at him with a deadpan facial expression and keep walking to class unbothered.....not really tho. Oh my god, I hate math. I`m just not good with numbers. Oh so this is how Mrs. Brownson got her room set up this year. I think I`ll sit next to Scaramanga Shallah from the Group War Committee Pack in the middle row. I`m definitely not sitting in the front so Mrs. Brownson can call me all the time. 

      Well let me take this notebook out so I can do this drill she has for to us to complete. MaryAnne came in class like 20 minutes later with a note she got from the office. She gives the note to Mrs. Brownson, she reads the note and says, "MaryAnne have a seat next to Reme and you`ll have 10 points taken off of your drill percentage." MaryAnne says, "Mrs. Brownson"! Maryanne sits next to me and as soon as she gets her butt nestled in the chair I whisper asking her, "Where the hell were you,"? Maryanne just smiles at me.

       "You was making out with Lee huh? Just can`t wait can you girl"? She smiles even harder. Whispering in my ear Maryanne says, "Lee is my mate, Reme". Congratulations Mary I`m so happy for you both." You know Lee is older than me and he`s third in command when Tony becomes Alpha Rem," Maryanne says. Aww girl don`t you worry about a thing Lee will love you no matter what. "Rem I hope you`re right," says Maryanne. How old is Lee anyway Mary? "Lee`s bornday was last week. 

      He turned 19 and I won`t be 17 until this summer.You don`t think nothings` wrong with it do you Rem," Maryanne says?Hell naw, I can see if he was like maybe 8 to 10 years older than you but right now he`s 3 years older and in the summer two years older than you. Girl, so what, everything will be fine. The school bell rings indicating that class is over. Art class is next with Mr. Johnson. I guess I`ll sit over there next to Timmy. I really enjoy art. It gives me a chance to really express myself in a abstract way. 

     Being it`s the first day of school I expect a lot of the teachers will be explaining classroom and homework rules like what Mr. Johnson is doing. Ugh first days are always boring. The only fun about the first day is seeing people you didn`t see in the summer. While Mr. Johnson is talking the bell rings. Second period is over and I`m glad about that. My third period in  Mrs. Dollar`s class is next. She teaches English. 

     Now as everyone knows I love to write so you know I have an affinity with the subject of English. Oh there`s Kimmy. Wassup Kimmy I got here later than you? He says, "Yeah my Old Earth said she don`t wanna see all those high tardy counts this year or she`s not gonna help me and Timmy  get this carwe both wanted,we`re trying to have by the summer, know what I`m saying". Good Morning students I hope everyone had an awesome summer. I know I did. Okay the drill for today is to write four paragraphs of what you did during your summer vacation. After we`ve all completed that I`ll be passing out a paper to you," says Mrs. Dollar. 

     Oh this` gonna be quick.(35 minutes passes....)Kimmy you done? I`m finished mines. "Yeah just about finished. I got about 3 more sentences I`m a write then I`m done," says Kimmy. "Okay class I`m ready to pass out the ditto. After I`ve passed them out to everyone I want you to silently read the question on the paper to yourself then underneath the question answer it in one paragraph," says Mrs. Dollar. Kimmy does your ditto say the same thing as mines? "And what yours say," says Kimmy? It says why is my name Mrs. Dollar? Is this woman stupid or what. "Okay yall stop. Can you collect the papers for me please Reme," Mrs.Dollar asks.Sure Mrs. Dollar and I must say that was a weird question on the paper. Everyone in the class laughs. I collect the papers from everyone.

        "Now that I have all the papers I`ll read some of them," says Mrs. Dollar. "Well don`t read mines," says Jamilia. When I gave the dittos to Mrs Dollar I made sure mines was on top so maybe she can read mines first. I`m a very confident writer. "I`ll start by reading the one on the top first," says Mrs. Dollar. Just when she starts to read the bell rings. "Homework is to write a 100 word essay on some current event. Have a great remainder of your day. Goodbye class," Mrs. Dollar says. As I exit the classroom I see Timmy down the hall waiting for me so we can go to study hall. Was you waiting for me long. "Naw for a couple minutes Rem if that," says Timmy. Cool lets see whats up in study hall. I hear this year Mrs. Cress-Welsing is the monitor. Lets sit over there. Them two seats is unoccupied right near the door. Come on Timmy. Mrs. Cress-Welsing comes in the room looking very majestic. 

     She introduces herself and tells us if we`re already familiar with the rules of conduct then we can excuse ourselves and go to lunch, those who have it. The bell rings meaning it`s officially lunch time. Timmy and I step off and head to the cafeteria. I wonder where we gonna to sit this year. Timmy says, "I don`t care as long as I can see who`s coming in and out, especially the little mamacitas, nahmean"? Oh god their you go. Oh I see them. Damn they already sitting with their food.They must`ve ran to the cafeteria. They`re over there by the vending machines. I yell out, `Hey yall whats good with yall over there. "Ain`t nothing just chilling," everyone says. I see Tommy and Tony at their table. I wave hello to them. They`re coming to our table to say hi. Wassup Tommy. 

      "Hey Reme yall good over here," Tommy says? Yeah we straight we about eat and then play a little spades. "That`s wassup I like spades," says Tony. And Hello to you too Tony, in my sassy voice. "Peace my black african queen, Ast awaits your arrival on the throne," says Tone in a sarcastic but majestic tone. Everyone at the table laughs thinking that we`re joking since we`ve always interacted with each other in a playful but flirtatious way ever since we were little, so everyone takes it as normal but deep down Tony knows I`m very serious and he is too. "Well we just came over here to say wassup and check on yall. We gon` back over to our table. We`ll see yall later," says Tommy. Alright Tommy I`ll see you later. Byyyye Tony Tone in my sexy voice. "Peace, Love and Light goddess and yall have a good day," said Tony! As Tommy & Tony leaves from our table here comes James with some chick that we don`t know. "Hey wassup yall," says James. 

      "Whoa Whoa James and who is this might I ask," says Kimmy.    "Quite glad you asked Kimmy. Everyone this` Jean and guess what yall? You wouldn`t believe it she`s my mate," says James, smiling ear to ear. Wow girl your gorgeous. "Give Thanks," Jean said. Oh and she`s conscious too? "Well I wanted to ask yall if it would be okay if Jean roll with us? She`s good peoples," says James. We all look at each other then at Jean with a serious look on our faces and I say, "Welcome to the fam yo". Jean smiles, we all introduce ourselves and shake her hand. Congratulations with finding each other so young. Many of us may not find our mates til` we`re old and gray so cherish your union and progress. 

     Timmy walks over with his mate, her name is LeeAnne. One thing I can say about my friends is that their mates seem to be nice individuals themselves with cool personalities, not the stuck up overbearing type. We all seem to get along good. "What`s going on yall, are we missing something," says Timmy? James was just introducing us to his mate. I formally introduce Jean to Timmy and LeeAnne. "Congratulations on finding your Queen/mate god. The best wishes of eumelanin love, pride and unity g," says Timmy. "Congratulations...Jean...right," says LeeAnne.

     "Thank You sis, I humbly appreciate the love. Word life your everything that James told me about yall. Yall real cool.," says Jean. Say Word that`s how we do over hurr shawty. Everyone at the table laughs. And guess what yall? Maryanne found her mate too! Guess who it is.....Lee Thompson...Ummmmm. "Shhh Reme I wasn`t ready to tell everybody yet you big mouth. You know he`s...,"says Maryanne. I interject and say, "Girl stop whining ain`t nobody gon` tell your b.i. I was just so excited for that I couldn`t hold it in. I apologize. "Aww don`t worry sis. I`m just a little worried it won`t work," says Maryanne. 

      Us girls tell Maryanne to not stress the relationship and that we`ll help her in whatever she may need to know that we know. Damn tho, Kimmy you and I ain`t found our mates yet. I`m hating that`s f****d up ain`t it Kimmy. Kimmy, now how the hell you and Timmy are twins but he shifted and got his mate but you don`t? "The hell if I know Reme. s**t why haven`t you found your  yet. I mean you`re the sexiest one in here," says Kimmy sarcastically. Please these guys think I`m too serious as they say, so their intimidated soooo... "Uh-huh whatever we ain`t pressed bout it tho right, in due time," says Kimmy.

      Daaamn right I say and we all laugh.(Side Note: The twins are one year older than all of us. James and Maryanne are one year younger than the twins and then comes me, the baby of the crew). The bell rings. Our lunch period is over. We all say peace and go our separate ways. Those who have classes with each other went together. I was by myself leaving the cafeteria to go to my 6th period World History class when I walk pass the janitor`s closet door the door flings open quickly and someone pulls me inside. 

     I was ready to scream for help when the lights come on and Tone puts his hand over my mouth so I won`t scream. He slowly takes his hand off of my mouth.What the hell Tony...Are trying to scare me to  death? "I`m sorry Rem but I just had to explain myself for earlier," says Tony. Huh, what happened earlier, acting as if I didn`t know what he was talking about. Tony says," Reme I know you saw me and Jade making out. I wanted to tell you I`m sorry you saw that. Reme can I tell you a secret"? Sure you know you can, your secret is safe with me. Your my brother`s best friend. "Well Rem I`m only with Jade until I`ve found my mate," says Tony. Boy you should know you don`t have to explain anything to me.

       I admire your noble apology but I can`t accept it because I`m unfortunately not girl or your mate. While I got you here alone I ain`t gonna front I, uh, wish I was boy and I sneak tap his d**k while I`m talking to him. All in all Jade IS your girlfriend nevertheless, do you want her to be your mate, I would think so being she is your girlfriend right, I ask. "No I want someone else to be my mate. Oh believe me I want someone to be my mate soo bad," says Tony as he grabs the cheeks of my face like he always has since we were little.

      Well all I can say is if Jade is your mate that means she`ll be your Luna Tone. Do whatever, do you and be happy but if she`s not your mate and you and your mate find each other I just hope your mate is understanding about why you`re with Jade. I know I wouldn`t. She would have to go, no bullshit. Don`t worry tho in three weeks you`ll find out right?  "Yeah right," Tone says. So I`m ready to turn around to leave out of the closet before we both get caught and Tone pulls me back in. BOYY WHAT DO WANT NOW!? You`re gonna get us caught and late. "Reme can I ask you something," says Tone. I say nothing but I got my hands on my hips a little annoyed waiting for him to ask the question.

      He looks me in my eyes and says, "Never mind". You sure now before I leave. He shakes his head up and down. Okay bye Tone I`ll see you later and don`t worry your secret is good with me. I leave out of the closet.The rest of the day at school goes by fast. The last bell rings. I go to meet up with the crew to tell them Peace, 3rd Eye Vision and I`ll go on i********: live later on today before I go to wait for my brother and Tone by Tone`s truck. Oh here they come. Aww s**t who is this they got with them? "Wassup Rem you know Jade and Kittie. Kittie car broke down so we gonna take them with us," says Tommy. 

     Take them with us!? "Naw not with us with us we gonna drop you off first then take them to Jade house," says Tommy. Umm you what that`s okay I`ll walk. I forgot my notebook in my art class anyway and I gotta make sure I get that. "You know it`s no problem. It`s not an inconvenience at all. We can drop you off first. Are you sure," says Tony? Yeah Tone I`m good I`m sure...I`ll be okay. "Alright then, don`t say I didn`t insist, says Tony. I laugh. Boy you good. Yall just be safe. I watch them all get in Tone`s whip and leave from the parking lot. Like they really think I`m really stupid. I know they ready to go get some p***y. It`s all good. Well let me start walking home.
