19 A VISA RUN TO CAMBODIA

Seven years ago, my wife was refused a UK visa ‘because she had never been abroad before’. This had several consequences because my return flight was already booked and my own visa for Thailand would expire soon, unless I went back without her, which I was not prepared to do.
The solution that I found was to get another visa for myself by re-entering Thailand from Cambodia and taking my wife as well so that she would have a foreign stamp in her passport and British immigration would never be able to throw that ludicrous accusation at her again.
