In order to do so Dexter knew he had to do two things. First, he must go over the events of the previous year in detail, from his own notes and mental recollections. Secondly and perhaps more terrifyingly, he felt that it would not be long before he would be boarding a flight bound for Bucharest and seeking out the cause of his endless sleepless nights. He didn't know why but something told him that Christina was calling to him from across the ocean, across the mountains and valleys of her ancient lands and Dexter, knowing in his heart that nothing good could have brought such a thing to pass, was determined to find out why.
After all, he thought to himself, I am an investigative journalist, aren't I?
