Chapter 1 - Dexter's DreamDexter woke from a deep sleep, his brow covered in sweat, his body shaking. His hair was matted and tousled from tossing and turning in his sleep. He leaned over to the side of the bed and turned on his bedside lamp. The sound of rain hammered on his bedroom window, a storm that reminded him of his time in the Carpathian Mountains over a year previously. The sound of the wind hurling the raindrops against the glass pane reminded him of the cause of his sudden awakening.
