Chapter Sixty-Four
Bethany entered the subdivision. Since she had the day off, she’d promised Tasha to spend some time with her. Danny had been uncomfortable leaving his wife home all day with the kids, so Bethany had volunteered to come over and hang out.
If it weren’t for the promise, Bethany would’ve turned around gone home. She hadn’t been comfortable being around her old friend. Tasha hadn’t seemed to change, but Bethany knew things that made her uneasy, and she hated all the secrecy.
Pulling into the driveway, she saw that Danny’s truck was already gone. As she exited the vehicle, her phone went off with a text.
‘Door’s open. Come in.’
She turned the knob and walked inside. Entering the living room, she saw her friend sitting in an armchair.
