STEAL AWAY
Once we got back to the Cajun’s house, I wanted to kiss the ground. After I cut the engine, the Cajun jumped out of the Jeep. I slid out of the driver’s seat and ran after him. “Wait!” I called to him. “Are you okay?” Not one word uttered between us the whole trip back. I didn’t know about the Cajun, but my body was trembling.
The Cajun stopped in his tracks and turned abruptly to face me. A wide smile plagued his face. “Oui! That got my motor revved.”
“You’re kidding? Do you have any concept of what just happened?”
“I do! Aliens are running amok.” His dark eyes glistened.
“I think it’s a bit more than creatures running haywire. Our world is under siege by freaking aliens!”
