CORRESPONDENCE
‘Just imagine this room full of people,’ Harriet enthused. ‘Nine paintings on the walls and you, over there, perhaps even on a dais, performing nine musical pieces. One for each painting.’
‘So, the music corresponds to the paintings?’ Ginny said drily.
‘And the paintings to the music.’
‘Doesn’t seem all that original.’
Harriet drew a breath. Ginny had been aspersing the project ever since Harriet conceived the idea. They had frittered an entire month, Ginny still mired in the aftermath of her sorry relationship. While the real Garth was no doubt boozing his life away, a psychic Garth had lodged in Ginny with the tenacity of a tapeworm, spiralling ever downward, and Harriet wondered if it would ever reach her bottom.
