Loretta entered Rachel’s office, standing briefly in the doorway as if she were being presented at a ball, looking sophisticated, as usual, in a deep blue pantsuit. No one would have ever suspected she had once been a police detective in Nevada because her appearance gave every indication of her being a classy, God-fearing woman, possibly in society. “Good morning, Loretta,” Rachel said. “You look lovely.” “Thank you, dear.
