Andy Ross still found it a little strange walking into the office of the D.C.I. After seeing Detective Chief Inspector Harry Porteous ensconced behind the expansive desk for so many years, somehow, his old friend and Porteous's replacement, Oscar Agostini appeared somewhat incongruous in the boss's familiar leather chair.
“Still find it a bit weird seeing you in that chair, Oscar,” he said as Agostini invited him to sit down.
“You'll get used to it in time, Andy,” Agostini replied. “I still feel odd myself, to tell the truth, having this b****y great office all to myself. Something we both need to come to terms with. Still never mind all that. Where do we stand on the Decker case?”
