Perhaps he would have thought differently if she had told him the real reason she never ventured into Talon lands. She should have told them she couldn't go, and even the reason why. However, she hadn't been able to avoid this encounter. Perhaps she was weak.
Now she stood with her family outside their lair and facing the Talons... facing Hunter.
She'd seen pictures of him over the years, of course. She hadn't been able to resist. Her family had seen him on numerous occasions, and her cousin Gina had mated with Quinn, a former Talon wolf, so she'd been able to observe the role of the Alpha Talon through her eyes. But none of that prepared her for the shock of seeing him in person.
Her wolf howled, pushing her with more determination than she had imagined possible.
