When Anna made it to the address Jack had given her, she found a cafe with nearly two dozen round tables spread out in front of a stage with a red curtain. As soon as she walked through the door, she saw at least half a dozen people she didn't recognize. So, Jack was going to perform? Perform what, exactly?
Clasping hands together behind her back, Anna strode into the room with her face turned up to the ceiling. “Well, this should be interesting.” It irked her that Jack hadn't told her his plan, but she chose a small table and waited patiently.
A few minutes later, Melissa came plodding into the room with her head down, her eyes fixed on the floor. Bleakness, the poor girl was obviously distraught. She didn't even see Anna as she passed.
