“At least the trains are running again,” Tony Curtis commented at the end of the latest team briefing.
Two days had passed, and Ross and his people had still been unable to make a positive identification of the victim of the bloody body dump at Mossley Hill Station. The partial fingerprint had proved of no use to them, as the victim, as far as could be ascertained, had no police record anywhere in the UK, adding credence to Ross's belief that the man had been, as Doctor Neve suggested, an American, based on the dental work present on the man's disfigured but still intact jaw.
