“You’re not a fool, old friend. Carmilla found my coven. She confronted me, but I was able to trick her.”
Baron asked, “How did you do that?”
“I was able to shapeshift into another human. She almost discovered me, but I kept my wits about me.”
Gale ignored their hardy laughter and brushed the grime from her jeans and stood next to Baron and looked directly at the man in the blue-tinted glasses. “I thought your name was Alexander.”
