Chapter TwoARISAIG, SCOTLAND Twelve hours after bidding farewell to Penn and Miko, Jack Grant stepped into the porch of the little cottage, shook the rain from his shoulders and felt the warmth of the hearth from the sitting room filtering through into the hallway. He knew instantly that something was wrong; there was heaviness in the air and the cottage was ominously silent. The cottage didn't work like that; there was always noise, clutter and voices.
