Baring her teeth with a hiss, Anna lowered her eyes. “I don't know,” she whispered, shaking her head. “A little sanity for a change? Right now, I'd be willing to settle for no more death threats.” Beran gave her shoulder a squeeze, then walked off to join several other people in a quiet conversation, leaving her alone to think. Anna sighed softly. She really should get back out there – normally, she loved parties – but there was something so draining about hearing threats on your life multiple times a day, everyday for months.
