I must’ve drifted off to sleep when my eyes fluttered open. Taking in a quick sigh, I noticed the IV and heart monitor had vanished. The nurse must’ve taken it down while I was sleeping. Not waking up during a stranger’s visit, I reckoned I needed more rest than I thought. Chills iced my skin. Though I didn’t cotton to the idea of a stranger freely roaming in my room while I was sleeping. I propped myself up on my elbows spotting a pile of fresh clothes in a chair by the window. My guess, it was put there by the same person who’d been overseeing my care. My eyes dropped down looking at the wrinkled hospital gown. Seeing the clean clothes made me crave a hot shower.
