As the days of spring led into summer, Albreda continued her research, leading from one book to the next. Identifying the runes had been a blessing but also a chore, for now she must investigate their meaning. Some symbols still defied description, but these she put to the back of her mind, concentrating instead on those she had found.
It soon became apparent just knowing the runes was not enough. Research revealed each had a name universal to all languages, regardless of race. Most books spoke of proper pronunciation being key to the working of magic, yet it was said very few could actually invoke the power hidden within them.
