We did not say much as our lives changed forever. Leaning forward, I kissed him again, this time without any doubt. I was not kissing him to reassure him, or to make him feel better; I was kissing him because I wanted to kiss him, and, to judge by his response, he had no objections to being kissed. I pulled back again, with my heart hammering within me and my eyes wide open. I touched my lips with my fingers, and then touched his. 'Charles,' I said, and stopped.
