After a quick coffee and thanking her friend for his hospitality, Solange headed to the police station. She knew she needed to report Chris and ensure he could no longer harm her or Luna. “We’ll take care of this, Ms. Solange,” one of the officers said firmly and professionally. “Chris will be arrested for his actions and will face legal consequences. You and your daughter will be safe.”

Solange nodded, feeling a mixture of relief and sadness. Despite everything that had happened, a part of her still lamented the fall of Chris, the man she once loved. But she knew it was the right thing to do, for herself and for Luna.

She returned to her friend’s house to gather her things and made a call to her parents. She explained the situation and asked them to look after Luna for a few more days until she could return to the city.

“We’ll be waiting with open arms, dear,” her mother said with love and concern in her voice. “We love you and want you to be safe.”

Solange headed to the bus station, feeling a mix of emotions as she boarded the bus back to the city. She knew the road to recovery would be long, but she was determined to take it. As the bus wound its way towards the city, Solange reflected on everything that had happened in the past year.
