Chapter FiveSabrina heard the sound in the hallway from her bedroom but had been too immersed in thought to react before it was too late. She started to close the door but was surprised at the sight of Hoyt Wexford in the doorway.
“Hoyt! What are you doing here?”
“You gave me the key, remember?”
“I know, but you…you've never used it before.”
“Maybe I never had a reason.”
“I…I wish you would've called.”
“Do you? You look like you're getting ready to go out,” he walked in and stood over by the window.
