Chapter 15The Crow The wind whipped and whistled round the myriad gravestones in Allerton cemetery. Loose leaves, picked up by the wind, blew in eerie spirals around some of the larger grave monuments, and despite the weak sunshine, the place felt bleak and incredibly lonely as the few visitors to the site sought out their family plots, some with flowers in hand, collars turned up against the biting wind, scarves ticked in tight around necks, gloves encasing cold fingers. One man stopped in front of a headstone that showed signs of recent masonry work.
