Giovanni is in the VIP lounge, sitting on a sofa that tries to appear comfortable but isn’t. One of his men gave him an update about the Catholic orphanage Anna lived in.
The headmaster had been arrested and publicly condemned. Meanwhile, the nuns are awaiting trial for covering up the abuse that happened under their care and participating in it when it came to physical harm.
“Do you want to take action, Young Master?” the subordinate asks.
Giovanni thinks about the scars on Anna’s back that he saw in the hospital. They’ll always be part of her skin, a map of the pain she endured when nobody was there to defend her. “Take good care of the headmaster in prison.”
