The Unveiling of the Plot
The hours passed slowly in the shadowy corridors, as if suspended by an invisible threat. Adrien, in his grand secret chamber, surrounded by his supporters, felt the tension rise. Every gesture was scrutinized, every whisper, every glance contained a promise of rebellion. There was no turning back now. The plan had been set in motion. But there was one detail he had not anticipated: one of his companions, consumed by doubt and fear, was about to reveal everything.
He had always believed that his allies, just like him, understood the necessity of change, the break with the old hierarchy, the revolution that would make the Celestial Kingdom a truly just space. But now, one of his closest lieutenants, an angel named Theodore, had gone to Gabriel, the brother of betrayal, to confess everything. Theodore had been tormented by an insurmountable moral dilemma, his soul disturbed by the very idea of overturning the divine order.
“Gabriel, I... I’m sorry. I can’t live with this burden any longer. Adrien is planning a revolution. He intends to overthrow the Supreme Master.”
These words, laden with condemnation, had shaken Gabriel to his core. He had known his brother all his life. They had grown up together, fighting side by side to protect the balance of the Kingdom. But what he was hearing now seemed unimaginable. There was no proof, no certainty. Yet, Theodore had nothing to gain by accusing Adrien, nothing to offer but a desperate confession.
Gabriel felt the pain of the betrayal all the more acutely because it came from one he had always admired and supported, his beloved brother. The suffering tore at his heart, but a voice within him commanded him not to ignore the warning. The divine order could not be compromised. It was the only truth he held dear. The evidence would come later, but he could not take that risk.
The Confrontation
Gabriel presented himself before his father, the Supreme Master, in the great hall of the throne. Every step seemed to echo against the golden walls, as though the very ground trembled under the weight of the announcement he was about to make.
“My Father…” He bowed deeply before his father’s throne, but he could not conceal the anxiety in his voice.
The Supreme Master, an imposing figure surrounded by light and divine energy, gazed at his son with infinite gravity. He had seen many things, endured countless trials, but nothing had prepared him for what he was about to hear.
“What is happening, Gabriel?” he asked in a calm voice, but one sharp enough to freeze the heart of any listener. This calm, however, masked a deep anger and disappointment.
“My Father…” Gabriel took a deep breath before speaking. “There are rumors circulating. Theodore, one of Adrien’s lieutenants, has revealed something alarming. He claims that Adrien is seeking to overthrow the divine authority. He wants to take the throne. He wants to change everything.”
Silence fell heavily in the room. The light that bathed the Supreme Master seemed to dim for a moment. His features hardened, and his gaze pierced Gabriel like a blade. Yet, he gave nothing away of his emotions—at least, not yet.
“Adrien… My own son.” The Supreme Master’s voice was cold. “I do not want to believe this.”
The Supreme Master slowly rose from his throne, his penetrating gaze fixed on Gabriel. “Go and fetch your brother. He must answer these accusations before me. Whether he has delegated his power or not, what must be judged here is his loyalty.”
The Fateful Meeting
Adrien arrived in the throne room a few hours later, his mind on edge. He had always known that the order was fragile, that invisible forces were stirring in the shadows. But he had never imagined that Gabriel, his brother, the one with whom he had shared everything, would be the one to betray his own family.
He entered the room with an apparent calm, a mask of confidence on his face. His eyes, however, betrayed a nervousness he could not conceal.
The Supreme Master fixed his gaze upon him, his eyes burning with divine authority. The silence that hung in the room grew heavy, oppressive.
“Adrien…” The Supreme Master’s voice finally broke the silence. “You have been accused of treason. How do you respond to these charges?”
Adrien, fists clenched, lifted his head and locked eyes with his father. He knew that this moment was crucial. But he would not bend. His dream, his vision for a more just Celestial Kingdom, could not be extinguished by fear or blind loyalty.
“I have not betrayed, Father. I saw the injustice and the inertia. This Kingdom, as it stands, is too corrupted, too frozen in its old traditions. I want what is just for the people, for the good of all.”
Adrien’s words echoed in the room, powerful and uncompromising. He took a small step forward, every movement calculated.
“I want a Kingdom that is more than a stagnant religious hierarchy. I want it to be truly founded on equity, the love of truth, and freedom. That’s why I seek to overthrow the established order, so that we can build something better.”
The Supreme Master stared at him for a long time. He knew that the decision that followed would be decisive. But he also felt a deep sense of disappointment. His own son, the one who had been a model of virtue and obedience, had become a man who rejected everything he had stood for.
“You speak of freedom, Adrien. But you forget that in this kingdom, freedom has always been governed by divine justice. Do you believe that your ideas can replace the balance we have built over millennia?”
Adrien responded without hesitation, “It’s not balance, Father. It’s stagnation. And stagnation, in the end, destroys everything.”
The Supreme Master sighed. He rose, his authority shining through every gesture.
“You’ve made your choice, Adrien. And now, you must bear the consequences.”
