He could feel Hyakuhei start to close the distance between them but he shook his head. ‘It’s okay… I think I just scared her.’ He knelt beside the sofa wondering what to do.
The guardians were overpowering her mind and obviously her body. Tama ran his gaze down her seeing the oversized shirt that no doubt belonged to one of the guardians… or maybe even the guy he’d seen her hanging around with at school. It didn’t matter. She wouldn’t need the guardians so much now that she was no longer alone.
Tama understood that this was harder on Hyakuhei than it was on him… for many reasons. Even now he could feel Hyakuhei’s emotional turmoil that he was trying so hard to hide. But Tama had been with him all his life… the demon lord had a heart.
