CHAPTER TWENTY EIGHT It was March thirteenth. Spring sunshine warmed Emily’s skin as she sat out on the balcony for the first time this year, her cell phone wedged between shoulder and chin, chatting with Amy. It was a bright, beautiful day, made brighter by the sight of the first crocuses of spring blooming in the lawn below her. Spring was coming to Maine and Emily for one was welcoming it. “I can’t believe it’s only one week until your wedding!” Amy said on the other end of the line.
