It’s Saturday and I’ve just got home from my shift at the hospital. “Babe?” I call Chris as he walks out of the bathroom.

“I need to talk to you about something. Do you mind sitting down for a bit?”

“I got a call from your mother today.”
“What’s this about, Lia?” his mood immediately changes.
“She’s in town and she wants to meet today if possible.”
“I’m not meeting her.”
