“What?!” All of the girls exclaimed.
“Rain, what are you saying?” Lanie asked.
“If Ryker is going to be this tyrant, then I don’t want him as a mate,” Rain stated.
“Wait, hold on a second,” Lexie said, her tone angry. “You’re going to throw in the towel before you guys have even had a chance to get it right? Seriously?”
“Why do you sound as if you’re judging me?” Rain questioned.
“Uh, because I am!” Lexie replied.
“Lexie, be nice,” J told her.
“No, I’m not going to be nice. We’ve been nice. We’re being caring and supportive.
We’re trying to help you and Ryker understand one another, but rather than actually trying, you’re just going to give up? Why? Because it’s too hard or uncomfortable?”
“That’s not fair, Lexie!”
“No, it’s not, but hey, that’s life,” Lexie retorted
