3: THE TRANSACTION.

As Delta Scott knocked on the elaborately carved wooden door to the Alpha’s office, he couldn’t stop grinning. His meeting with Clive had gone exactly the way he had wanted. His mind started wandering back to the sight of Jade in her wet uniform and the way that the material had clung to her curves. She had blossomed into a beautiful young woman, and he longed to feel her ample breasts pressed up against him, as his hand tangled itself in her raven hair. He was brought out of his thoughts by the Alpha calling for him to enter. He adjusted himself to hide his excitement before pushing the door open. Alpha Miller pointed at one of the hard wooden chairs opposite him, and Delta Scott sat down. “Eric.” The Alpha began, leaning his arms on his big, expensive desk. “I have just gotten off the phone with Alpha Ronan. He, along with one of his sons and a couple of his men, is going to be passing through the area. They want to stop here for the night. Get a visitors' suite made ready for Ronan and his son, and one of the cabins out back for his men.” He ordered, irritation clear in his voice. Alpha Miller hated Alpha Ronan. He had been a problem for him for years. He truly believed that more packs would have followed his way of ruling if it weren’t for Alpha Ronan. He always spoke up against him and got in his way. The next Alpha summit was coming up next month, and he couldn’t help thinking that Alpha Ronan was only stopping there to spy on him and try to cause problems for him. Alpha Miller had an idea. “Eric, one more thing. Let’s throw a big dinner, followed by drinks and dancing in Alpha Ronan’s honor tonight. Make the arrangements and spread the word. All wolves of any rank are invited to attend. Except the bitches, of course.” Delta Scott looked a little confused. “But.... You hate Alpha Ronan. Why would you want to throw that prick a party?” he asked. Alpha Miller slammed his fist down on his desk. “I am the Alpha. It is not your place to question me; now do as I say. If Ronan wants to see how things are here, to gather information about us. Then let's show him a pack house full of wolves enjoying themselves. Happy and grateful to their Alpha.” Delta Scott stood. “Of course, Alpha. I apologize, I will arrange things at once.” Alpha Miller waved his hand dismissively, and Dellta Scott left the office. He headed straight down to the kitchen to order the she-wolves there to get everything ready. They were to make a feast for tonight. He informed the head of the servants, a dowdy-looking spinster called Louise, that she needed to prepare quarters for their guests. The Delta then headed out to invite the pack. Making a stop at his suite first to collect the money. He knew exactly which household he was going to stop at first. The Woods' house. That way, he could kill two birds with one stone. He was grinning again; he just couldn't stop. He was thinking that one hundred thousand was a bargain price for what he was getting. He would have happily paid more, not that Woods needed to know that. Jade had finished with her morning duties early and was heading back to her room for the thirty minutes that she would get to relax while she waited for the laundry to finish. Just as she reached her door, her Father summoned her to the living room once again. Her heart sank. Was he going to punish her for the serving mistake earlier? If so, she hoped that it was just a beating rather than a silvering. She rubbed her wrists; she still had red marks and sores from the last time. He had put her in silver bracelets for accidentally breaking a vase while cleaning. It wasn’t even an expensive vase. Normally, a werewolf can heal quickly, but since the women no longer had wolves, they also lost the ability to heal as quickly as they should have. It was still faster than a normal human would heal, but not by much. Jade entered the sitting room cautiously to find her father sitting in his usual big, navy blue armchair in front of the fireplace. He had a huge smile on his face and an expensive-looking black leather bag at his feet. She glanced over at the sofa where she saw Delta Scott reclining. He looked pleased with himself. The Delta patted the sofa next to him and nodded for her to sit. She looked at her father for permission, and he nodded. She perched on the edge, surprised at how soft it was. She wasn’t normally allowed to sit on the furniture. Jade couldn’t help wondering nervously what was going on. It wasn’t long before she found out. “Jade.” Clive began speaking happily. “The Delta has dropped by for two reasons. Firstly, there will be visitors from the Silver Lake pack here in Blood Moon tonight, so the Alpha is generously throwing a party at the pack house. This means that you won’t need to cook any dinner tonight as Joey and I won’t be here. Instead, you can use the time to pack and clean your room. Perhaps clean yourself up, too.” Jade felt a rush of joy. She couldn’t remember the last time that she had had an evening off. Plus, there were still leftovers from breakfast, so she would be able to eat too. Then all of his words sank in. “Pack? Why would I need to pack father?” she asked, a confused expression on her face. Clive smiled at her, but it wasn’t a kind smile. “Well, my dear, tomorrow is your eighteenth birthday and Delta Scott has kindly offered a work placement for you in the pack house," he said. Jade felt a pang of excitement in her stomach. She had often wondered what it would be like to work in the pack house. She had barely ever been outside of this house. Only permitted to leave to buy groceries. Jade was both nervous and excited at the thought of getting to spend time with some of the other she-wolves. Perhaps she would even make a friend. "You will also be the Delta's personal servant, and you are to have the honor of bearing him a pup.” Clive continued speaking. Jade was frozen. The excitement that she had been feeling was replaced by horror.
