She woke up in the hospital, eyes wide open in fright before taking in her father's and Agnes's anxious faces as they hovered over her, the boys all sitting on chairs waiting as well.
"Thank goodness" Agnes exclaimed while her father exhaled and gently hugged her.
"Mum, dad" Lacey said and Agnes' fairly beamed at being referred to as her mother, "what happened."
"We found you wandering the streets disorientated and injured" Sawyer cut in and her eyes flashed to his understanding that he didn't know the full story or if she was comfortable divulging it to her parents.
"Yes" Lacey said slowly "I remember going for a walk and I think I fell down" she said confused "I like slipped on a piece of broken bottle and fell into a bunch of shards" she lied as they looked at her thoughtfully. T
