As Lacey had predicted her father had looked none too pleased with her new clothes but to her surprise had at least had complimented the look even if it sounded like something was stuck in his throat. When she had to go back to school she felt a little morose at the idea of being on her own again, having actually enjoyed spending time with Agnes and her father.
"Cheer up chick" Agnes advised with a small smile, hair billowing in the wind as she drove Lacey back to Raven Academy. "We'll call you every other day and your father will be making sure that investigation is carried out to his satisfaction."
