The bank clerk asked for Jennifer's autograph. Of course Jennifer's signature didn't change. Same signature as Jennifer.
"Miss Jennie. Wait here a moment."
Jennifer waited nervously. She didn't know and was confused about what was really going on. They refused her new identity, but asked for her signature under the affidavit.
Not long after that the bank clerk came back. This time they were not alone. A man with him. Unlike bank employees who wear special uniforms. The man seemed to have a high position.
"Are you Jenny Cole?" the man asked.
Jennifer was confused between nodding and no. However, due to the facts stated on her identity card, she was forced to justify the man's words.
"Right, I'm Jennie Cole."
The man smiled. His attitude is different from employees who continue to question his identity. The man asks the uniformed employee to leave.
"I've been waiting for you so long," the man said to Jennifer, after they were alone.
"Wait?" Jennifer was surprised. The man's words indicated that he had been waiting for Jennifer to come.
"True. Mr. Steven told me if anything happened to him you would come and take everything he kept here. Jennifer would come with another identity, but one thing is for sure you will come as the daughter of Jims Cole."
Jennifer was surprised. If Steven could predict what would happen after his death, it would mean that the identity change had been planned. Jims and Thomas weren't lying if they were really good friends with Steven.
"Come with me." The man asked Jennifer to follow him.
Jennifer immediately got up and followed the man into the most secretive and apparently guarded room.
There are many locked lockers in the room. On the locker door made of iron there are numbers that are also listed on the body of the lock.
"Please, give me your key," the man asked politely.
Jennifer handed him the key she kept holding on to. The man immediately opened the locker according to the number on the lock body. Soon the door opened. The man took the box-shaped item that was inside.
"This is an important item that Steven left behind. You can take a look at it first. Then decide again. Do you want to take it with you or keep it here with a different locker location. That's the advice I can give you for safety. here." The man put the box on the table in the room.
Jennifer sat down as soon as the man left. She stared at the box with her heart pounding with curiosity and because it was what Jennifer's father had left behind.
Jennifer held the box and saw that there was a password on it. Jennifer tried to put her date of birth there. She remembered that Steven had said that all the passwords were used. It's Jennifer's birthday, upside down. And all of that is true. When Jennifer ciphered her birthday in reverse, the box opened.
Jennifer looked inside. There were only a few items. Every item is in each partition, because there are three compartments in it. In the first partition, a debit card, credit card, cash and diamonds are stored. The second partition was a folded piece of paper which when unfolded turned out to be a map that made Jennifer confused as to what it was for. While the third partition contains Steven's diary. Jennifer took the diary and closed the box again. At the same time the man from earlier had returned.
"Have you decided to take everything with you or keep it back here?" the man asked.
"I'll just bring this book. I'll keep the others here back," Jennifer replied.
"Good decision. I'll have the file ready. This time you'll keep the box in your name." The man left Jennifer. Not long after that came back with a lot of files.
"I'll help fill this out. You just need to sign here."
Jennifer followed the instructions and signed all the necessary documents after which Jennifer had the keys to the new locker.
"We are very pleased with your arrival. You can add other important items later." The man greeted Jennifer. After that Jennifer left the Bank with a sigh of relief.
When Jennifer stopped the taxi, she didn't notice another car that had been following her from the start. The car also followed Jennifer in the taxi.
Jennifer turned to the first page of the agenda book. She saw that the handwriting there was indeed Steven's. The longing that Jennifer has been hiding for so long is getting stronger. Jennifer swiped at the writing. She is very familiar with Steven's writing. Because every work Jennifer always goes along with Steven. Unlike Janeth, who is always with her mother and sometimes busy playing with her friends. Jennifer was always with Steven.
Steven often nicknamed Jennifer the little professor. Remembering all that made Jennifer shed tears. Jennifer quickly wiped her tears because the taxi had arrived in front of the Hamilton family's house.
Jennifer quickly got out of the car and entered the Hamilton family's backyard gate. She ran into the main house. Max hangs to see Jennifer coming to say hello, but Jennifer doesn't see him.
Jennifer arrived at the house gasping for air. At that time there was only Maria in the kitchen.
"You have come," said Maria.
"Yes. Has Alex arrived yet?" Jennifer asked.
"Not yet. Usually if there is a meeting, Mr. Alex comes a bit late. If it is very important, the evening can come. But maybe today Mr. Alex will come earlier."
"How do you know?" Jennifer asked.
"Mr. Alex was home for a while. He said he had left a file. He often does," Maria smiled.
Jennifer was stunned. If Alex came home, he'd know Jennifer wasn't home.
"Did Alex ask where I was going?" Jennifer asked.
"Of course. When he came in, he immediately called your name. I told him you were out on business. Then Master went straight into his study and then left again." Maria told a long story.
Jennifer was silent. That means later Alex will ask where he went. Jennifer had to give honest reasons but keep the truth a secret.
"Okay. I'll go into my room to rest for a bit. Please just prepare the lunch menu as I wrote there. You and Stefanie may have lunch first."
"Very well, madam," said Maria.
Jennifer immediately entered the room. She put Steven's agenda book still in her bag and placed it on the bag storage rack. It was the safest place and no one would have guessed.
