Vale’s father took them to school. Giulia greeted her friend with the usual friendliness, having decided not to feed her suspicions about her until she had more solid evidence. In the first hour, they had Physics and that, for now, was her biggest concern. She wondered if Malerba would be at school; that thought tormented her throughout the whole journey. It was a gloomy day and she, sensitive to climate changes, felt out of sorts, with a huge desire to cry for no real reason. Once at school, she immediately started brushing up on Physics, while Vale ran between the seats in search of a good summary of what they should have studied the day before. Suddenly, a voice arose from the murmuring in the back.
“Guys, Malerba is coming”.
