9 Dani “I’m nervous,” I admitted. I was sitting on an exam table in the medical center. Gage had helped me change out of my clothes and into what looked like middle school gym clothes. A mint green t-shirt and a pair of loose similarly colored shorts. Gage had argued with a tech and refused a gown, stating that the princess needed more modest garb than that. The tech had argued pants wouldn’t work because it covered her ankle and they’d compromised on shorts. Fortunately, that had distracted me, but only for a time. I didn’t like doctors’ offices.
