Chapter 12Nate I fear her reaction more than anything, but she remains stoic. I have just confessed to her that I lived in a rebel pack and only the pressure of her hand in mine tells me that she has heard me. No outburst of anger, no fear, no attack. Not even the slightest whiff of magic in the air, a sign that her power is swirling inside her. Nothing. I continue before I am no longer able to. — The rebels welcomed us with open arms once my parents proved their loyalty to the pack. I didn't know what their test was for a long time, and the kids were kept away from the adults. We were fed bullshit like "shifters should rule the world, fatels should be slaves, they're just food that makes you stronger", that kind of nonsense. — The stupid ideas of the dissident packs. I know the type.
