Birthdays seemed different when you’re happy.

My day started quite differently.

    The flashing from the rising sun had me blinded, making me frown as I shield myself from it. However, I immediately stilled as I felt a hand on my head. I was forced to open my eyes for the morning and grew still as I saw a sleeping figure before me. My brain had long forgotten what had happened last night that I did not count on seeing this from the second that I wake up.

    Laurence was seated the couch, one that was close in my bed. His features were soft and vulnerable while he slept as his hands were placed on top of my head, probably giving me comfort through the harsh night.
