Chapter eightKhon the Mak! So I’d found the unhealthy kov, despite all. At once I made up my mind. The famous Plan, called The Plan, could now be abandoned. My ploy had been to trot along to the fight and find out who was winning. If Kov Barca’s people looked likely to beat the invaders then I’d find a weapon, and armor if I was lucky, and wade in to join them. Barca had been polite. Of course, there was no guarantee he’d stay that way for much longer.

Had the invaders been winning then I’d have had to take off if I didn’t wish to be caught and tortured.
