Chapter fourteen“Come at once!” he’d panted in that pleading voice. Come where did he mean? What did I think I was doing? Couldn’t he see what I was doing? There were three nasty customers and a wounded one thirsting for my blood. In that tiny fraction of time before they reached me I regained my composure and fronted them.
