Confusion etched on Edric’s face as he stared at Landon, dumbfounded. He found it extremely hard to believe his words. He had seen how quickly Margaret bonded so well with Elyssa. Seen how their chemistry for each other grew with each passing moment. Had seen the sparkles of motherly love in her eyes whenever she looked at or talked about Elyssa. There was no way Landon’s assumption could be true.

“No,” Edric’s voice was low but vehement. “There is no way that could be true. She is her real mother. I confirmed it myself.”
