Just as Edric predicted, the Adharkian soldiers stumbled upon the scattered footprints and were confused. They muttered amongst themselves in confusion, their heads twirling in all directions. They were trying to figure out the direction Edric and Margaret had taken. But all their attempts thudded against a brick wall.
As Edric peered from the bark of the tree, they were facing away from them. At that moment, he felt it was the right time to strike. Signalling Margaret with a jerk of his head, they came out from their hiding place and prowled to their attackers.
With forceful strength, they raised and swung their arms, slamming the log hard against the back of their heads. In an instant, the soldiers fell to the ground and lost consciousness.
