Elyssa walked to her bed and sat nervously on the edge, her hands pressed against the sides and her face slumped to her chest. The weight of her pregnancy was pressing heavily against her heart and she knew she had failed in keeping it from Edric till the war with her mother’s kingdom ended.

“Did you tell Edric about it?” Her voice was meekly anticipating. “What did he say? How did he react?”
